Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed 2D and 3D drawings for various engineering components suitable for manufacturing.
- Create high-quality renders for customer approval and presentation.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure designs meet customer specifications and manufacturing requirements.
- Utilize SolidWorks to produce accurate and detailed engineering drawings and models.
- Program laser cutting machines to produce components according to design specifications.
- Perform offline CNC milling using Alphacam to ensure precise and accurate component manufacturing.
- Provide technical support and expertise to the production team during the manufacturing process.
- Ensure all designs comply with industry standards and regulations.
- Assist in the continuous improvement of design processes and documentation.
- Participate in project meetings and contribute to the planning and execution of engineering projects.
- Perform reverse engineering on sample parts when necessary.
- Manage and maintain design documentation and records accurately.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a design engineering role within a subcontract engineering, CNC machining, or sheet metal environment.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and experience with other CAD software.
- Experience with laser programming and offline CNC milling using Alphacam.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with CNC programming and operation.
- Knowledge of materials and their properties, including metals and alloys.
- Familiarity with quality control processes and standards.
- Experience with project management tools and techniques.
