Our exceptional non-maintained special school, nestled between Woodford and Chigwell, is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEND Teacher to join our dynamic team in September.

About Our School:

  • We cater to pupils aged 5 to 19, providing day provision.
  • Our diverse student body includes those with moderate to severe learning difficulties, autistic spectrum disorder (ASD), and associated speech, language, and communication difficulties.
  • Our commitment to personalized learning ensures that every child's unique needs are met.

Role Overview: As a SEND Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational journey of our students. Here's what you'll be doing:

  1. Teaching and Learning:
  • Deliver engaging lessons to a small group of SEND pupils across Key Stages One and Two.

  • Tailor your teaching to accommodate various learning differences, ensuring progress aligned with individual Learning Plans or EHCPs.

  • Collaborate closely with our main school SENDCo to monitor social communication and overall development.

  • Contribute actively to provision mapping and annual reviews.

  1. Pastoral Care:
  • Provide essential pastoral support and guidance to all pupils in your care.

  • Safeguard the welfare of children and young persons.

  • Work closely with Form Teachers to keep parents informed about their child's progress, achievements, and daily experiences.

  • Set high expectations for behavior, motivation, and presentation of work, fostering a purposeful and inspiring learning environment.

  1. Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEN) Coordination:
  • Oversee the smooth day-to-day running of your small pupil group.

  • Collaborate with teaching assistants supporting the group.

  • Communicate effectively with local authorities regarding funding, EHCPs, and reviews.

  • Be the advocate for each pupil's learning and welfare within the group.

Qualifications and Attributes:

  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience working with SEND pupils.
  • Energy, enthusiasm, and a commitment to making a positive impact.
