Royal Mail are on the lookout for a Repair Hub Shift Manager

In this role you will be responsible for operation and management of a team of Container Repair Operative. The role holder will communicate and maintain strong working relationships with the Repair Hub Site Manager, customers and engineers on site whilst providing relevant updates and reporting. The role is responsible for the safety, productivity, and quality delivery of services on shift.

The role will lead, motivate and develop a team of container repair operatives during the shift, to ensure work is delivered in the most cost effective and productive manner to meet customer requirements.

: £16.30 Per hour

Shift Pattern:

Mon-Fri 14:00-22:00

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead on operational Health and Safety, including the cascade of core safety information.
  • Delivering Team Briefs and Safety Updates, ensuring safe systems of work are followed.
  • Leads on resourcing, onboarding and training of Repair Operatives as required.
  • Monitor, review and report on performance against targets.
  • Identify areas for improvement, create, initiate and evaluate improvement plans.
  • Carry out quality audits to ensure maintenance standards are maintained and safety is adhered to at all times.
  • Provide advice and guidance to our customers including escalation and issue resolutions for all operational issues during the shift.
  • Key Holding duties including opening and securing site as applicable.
  • Accountable for safe and compliant performance of all activities on site during shift
  • Accountable for delivering against operational performance targets during shift
  • Create a culture of cooperation, collaboration and teamwork across the shift and ensures a smooth interface with relevant stakeholders.
  • Accountability for Line Management of Operatives during the shift. Team size c 10 direct reports

Skills Required:

  • 3 years' experience in management of teams within a similar environment and scale
  • Experience of carrying out quality audits.
  • Health & Safety Management training
  • Strong understanding of H&S requirements and can actively observe, review and investigate safety behaviours.
  • Experience as a key point of contact for the customer
  • Experience in monitoring and reviewing team performance, identifying learning points.
  • Able to set and achieve targets within agreed deadlines
  • Experience of data analysis and reporting
  • Problem-solving skills,
  • Flexibility and adaptability,
  • Communication skills, both verbal and written.
