Team Manager - Children's Services

£49,498 - £51,515 per annum + £5,000 welcome payment + Annual retention payment of £2,000

Gloucestershire County Council are currently looking for permanent Team Managers to join the assessment and safeguarding teams. This is an exciting opportunity for Senior/ Advanced Practitioners to step up into a managerial role or already accomplished Team Managers to join a nurturing and supportive local authority.

About the role

As a Team Manager, you will lead and support a team of social workers to deliver services of the highest quality. Ensuring statutory duties and best practice is followed, you'll develop a team plan in line with Children's Services strategic objectives and provide management oversight on all cases with a clear understanding of risk. Your role will focus on managing the team's workflow and quality assuring work through observations, reflective supervision and GCC's quality assurance framework, as well as contributing towards the development of the framework itself. Through building positive relationships with colleagues within both the service and partner agencies, you will ensure we are able to provide support and protection for vulnerable children and young people across the County.
As well as your experience as a frontline social worker, there are some other requirements:

  • Social Work England registration
  • Experience at Senior Social worker level
  • A recognised qualification in Social Work
  • To have passed your Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE)
  • A full driving licence and willingness to drive
  • Enhanced DBS clearance

NOTE: Applications from Skilled Workers already living and working in the UK will be considered, with the following additional criteria:

  • Currently registered with SWE
  • Looking to move Certificate of Sponsorship and relocate to Gloucestershire
