Our Client, Leicester City Council, is seeking an experienced Children's Social Worker to join the Kinship team.

Responsibilities of this role:

  • Kinship Supervising Social Worker - initially someone will be needed to complete Connected Person Forms C's but if the demand changes, they will need someone to be flexible to do IVA's as well as the Form C's.
  • We are seeking a qualified and experienced social worker to carry out kinship/connected persons fostering assessments.
  • The Kinship assessment team work with connected people to ensure they are supported, supervised and trained to care for vulnerable children who are Looked After. Their goal is to ensure Foster Carers meet Fostering National Minimum Standards in caring for children, and ensure permanence, through permanent fostering, adoption and Special Guardianship Orders.
  • You will be in a team of 8 Social Workers, holding a case load of around 4 full assessments at a time.
  • The Team currently works directly with foster carers in their homes, with options to work remotely and office based. If you're doing the IVA's, you meet fortnightly as a team for two days and will be remote working the rest of the time, or on visits. If completing Form C's you will be on visits most of the time.

Requirements of this role:

  • Must be a Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England.
  • Must have minimum of 2 years' post qualified experience.
