Junior Management Accountant

We are seeking a proactive Junior Management Accountant to join our team on a 12-month maternity leave cover. This role is ideal for someone who may be currently studying for AAT and is looking to gain hands-on experience in a supportive environment. The position is office-based, with flexible working hours to accommodate your needs.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Contribute to the generation of monthly management reports by undertaking a variety of month-end tasks such as collating or inputting accruals, prepayments, and other required adjustments.
  • Collate and prepare schedules of transactional journal postings to ensure full reconciliation between the operational systems and the central corporate ledgers (Agresso).
  • Regularly meet with colleagues to ensure their understanding of our financial processes and provide clear guidance.
  • Carry out monthly reconciliations and other control account reconciliations.
  • Review monthly ledger transactions and work with budget holders to identify and correct miscoding issues.
  • Provide the team with monthly contractor/agency spend data.
  • Offer services to the team in various aspects of processing and reconciling the daily interfaces between the operational (Aareon QL, Bartec, Purgo, Key2) and corporate (Agresso) software systems.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Currently studying for AAT or a similar qualification is desirable
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to perform reconciliations.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work with a range of colleagues.
  • Proficiency in using financial software systems, particularly Agresso, or the ability to quickly learn new systems.
