I am seeking a qualified Management Accountant (formally or strong QBE candidates) to join a Finance team on a fixed-term basis to cover maternity leave. This role offers the opportunity to lead the day-to-day operations of the Finance team in a developmental capacity and provide essential management accounting services, including performance reporting and preparation of statutory accounts.
A hybrid working option is available, with the role based in Exeter for 3 days a week minimum.
Day to Day of the role:
- Lead the Finance team's daily operations.
- Provide management accounting services to the key divisional managers, including monthly KPIs and performance reporting.
- Prepare quarterly performance reports for the Committee.
- Play a key role in the production of the annual business plan process.
- Prepare statutory accounts and liaise with auditors as required.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial information is available to support decision-making.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Relevant Finance/Accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or qualified by experience.
- Excellent customer focus with a commitment to improving customer satisfaction.
- Proficiency in using and manipulating complex accounting systems.
- Experience in report writing and presenting financial information to non-financial individuals.
- Extensive use of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, in a business environment.
- Strong communication skills with a positive and adaptable outlook.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritise effectively, and deliver to tight deadlines with attention to detail.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
