Compliance Officer
to join our team and ensure adherence to all legal regulations, maintaining a high standard of operational integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies and procedures in line with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor changes in laws and regulations, ensuring the firm remains up to date and compliant with all statutory obligations.
- Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify areas of non-compliance and recommend improvements.
- Advise the firm's leadership on compliance issues, ensuring awareness of risks and the steps needed to mitigate them.
- Oversee internal reporting systems, ensuring that incidents are properly logged, investigated, and resolved.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies, such as the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA), and maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes.
- Deliver training sessions to staff, ensuring that compliance requirements are understood and followed across all departments.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience working in compliance, preferably within a law firm or legal setting.
- Strong knowledge of the UK legal system, particularly in relation to compliance and regulatory frameworks (e.g., SRA regulations).
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex compliance issues clearly to all levels of staff.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills and the ability to identify potential risks.
- A proactive, problem-solving attitude, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with anti-money laundering (AML) regulations and GDPR compliance.
- Familiarity with case management systems and compliance software.
- Legal qualifications or certifications in compliance would be an advantage.
