DK Recruitment are looking to recruitment Labourers/Operatives for our client's Devonport site for a 12-month contract. Successful candidates will undertake a variety of tasks and training to meet role requirements, with an emphasis on learning new skills.
Candidate Requirements:
- Must hold a current full clean driving licence
- Counterbalance FLT licence is desirable; willingness to train is essential
- Willing to work at height and in confined spaces
- MEWP operator or willingness to train
- Understanding of the client's business role, processes, and procedures is beneficial
- Positive attitude towards Health and Safety, with a willingness to challenge unsafe acts
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to present clean shaven for a face fit test
- Ability to work in a team
- Some heavy lifting required
- Willingness to work as a Nuclear Reactor cleaner and to work shifts as needed (not required for all roles)
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Experience, and Competences:
- Previous experience working in a marine environment
- Knowledge of submarine and warship layouts
- Willingness to undertake development training as per a competency framework
- Ability to adapt to a changing work environment
- Ideally have previous work experience within a confined space environment
Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of COSHH, Manual Handling, and Risk Assessment Regulations
- Sound basic knowledge of health and safety matters related to the work environment
- Knowledge and application of PPE relevant to the work area
- Capability to maintain work area husbandry and protect equipment/prepared surfaces
- Basic comprehension of written/oral instructions and fundamental IT skills/general administration
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to obtain and hold SC Security clearance
- Completion of a medical assessment prior to employment offer
