Junior Data Analyst

London Fire Brigade, one of our largest public sector organisations based in London are looking to recruit a Junior Data Analyst to join their team on a 3-month contract with a view to extend if all goes well. The role is full time, Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week with hybrid work available (3 days work from home) and the office is based near London Bridge/Southwark station.

Pay: £19.30 per hour via PAYE or £24.52 per hour Umbrella

Job Purpose:

The postholder will be responsible for assisting in compiling, checking and updating departmental performance reports, supporting the work of the team in ensuring trainers meet fit to train requirements, eligibility reports are maintained for courses, and providing administrative support for key departmental meetings and department initiatives where required. This will help the learning and Professional Development department to provide our people with the knowledge, skills and development they need to do their jobs safely, confidently and well.

Key responsibilities:

  • Contribute to reports that analyse the performance of external training providers in delivering the outsourced training contract.
  • Maintain and monitor performance data to ensure it is both accurate, reliable and current, ensuring that management reports can be created.
  • Tailor the provision of information to meet the needs of the target audiences including managers, external agencies and brigade departments so that data can be used and interpreted effectively.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of a ‘skills gap' report in specific skills areas, to help inform managers of the extent to which core skills training requirements are being met.
  • As directed by the Training Performance and Systems Manager, contribute with producing data to assist with the development of internal reports to track elements of the performance of the Training and Professional Development department, to improve the effectiveness, efficiency and decision-making within the department.
  • Support the Training Performance team with departmental improvement projects, helping to ensure that each one meets key objectives, and is delivered on time.
  • Support the Training Performance team to ensure accurate eligibility reports are produced and fit to train records are maintained.
  • To maintain an awareness of current process improvement and project management methodologies and how they can be applied to meet the department's requirements within the current operating environment, organisational constraints and existing strategies.

Due to the nature of the role, applicants must have experience and knowledge of Microsoft 365, MS Excel using VLookup/Xlookup or PiVot table, Power queries, or/and MS form and Power automate or/and on-line Sharepoint.
