Care and Supported Housing Service Manager

An opportunity has arisen for two Care and Supported Housing Service Managers, with a charitable Housing Association in Hemel Hempstead. Both roles are permanent positions, working with a diverse range of client groups.

Location: Hemel Hempstead

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9-5pm

The hours of working should be flexible, to include occasional evenings, weekends and bank holidays and "Sleep Ins" where necessary

Salary: £32,391 per annum

Your duties will include:

  • Ensure the emphasis of the homely environment is enhanced and maintained
  • Responsibility for co-ordinating individual support, planning and key working
  • Supporting each individual in the development of everyday living skills
  • Ensure the administration of medication and health care needs are met
  • Assist in the recruitment of staff, including ensuring full training is provided and conducting appraisals to identify individual training needs
  • Ensure that all staff are aware of the Associations policies and procedures and are informed promptly of change
  • Ensure the safe keeping and administration of drugs in accordance with agreed policy and legislation
  • Maintain good working relationships with other health and social service professionals and agencies involved with residents or the Association
  • Ensure that Health and Safety legislation and regulation is complied with, including ensuring all residents and staff are aware of Fire procedures
  • Ensure the safe keeping of residents money within the home
  • Maintain project petty cash impress in accordance with the Associations procedures
  • Draw up staff rota's within allocated resources and submit additional hours and expenses claims to Managers for authorisation

The successful candidate should have:

  • Previous experience working in care/ support field
  • Understanding of managing budgets
  • Ability to work with individuals who have complex support needs and varying behaviour
  • Knowledge of community resources and facilities
  • A strong desire to empower vulnerable people to live independently and make their own decisions
