Technical Manager

£40,000 to £50,000 per annum depending on experience

Full time on site

Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist expertise and guidance to the technical team and wider business to support the food safety culture.
  • Propose the Company's position on emerging trends. Sharing information and developing any policies or statements required.
  • Maintain and continuously improve our Quality Management System, delivering training provided to the wider business.
  • With the support the Technologists, ensure that full product specifications and product data sheets are available and provided to customers within agreed timescales.
  • Ensure the customer complaints are actioned with 24 hours.
  • Ensure that certificates of Authenticity and Compliance are provided in line with agreed timescales.
  • Review and improvement department procedures to drive efficiency and speed of response.
  • Lead the internal audits programme, highlighting any non-conformances and working collaboratively on actionable solutions.
  • Oversee annual product traceability, withdrawal and recall testing.
  • Lead, engage and develop the technical team, ensuring clear roles and responsibilities.
  • Assess team resource requirements and carry out recruitment and selection as needed.
  • Lead the onboarding of new technical team members, including induction training and conducting probation reviews.
  • Wear PPE as required, reporting any loss or damage to a manager.

Person Specification:

  • 2 years' experience in Food Safety Management
  • Food Safety qualification ideally HACCP L3/4
  • Well organised with the ability to meet multiple deadlines and manage the team's workloads to ensure KPI's are achieved.
