Our Opportunities

Base Location: Flexible, however our preference is that you will be based in one of our key UK sites, which includes but is not limited to:- Perth, Glasgow, Reading or Havant.

Within SSEN Distribution, our Operational Technology (OT) teams develop, design, deliver, maintain, improve and secure a range of technologies and systems that monitor and control our electricity distribution network.

Managing new technologies, reducing technical obsolescence, connecting assets to assets, tackling cybersecurity hurdles, these are all part of the landscape in OT.

Do you have experience in the electricity, gas, oil, water, telecommunications, manufacturing, food and beverages or transportation industries? We would love for you to join us as we grow our team.

We have a number of exciting opportunities including:

Product/Senior Product Analyst (£46,626-£68,098)

In role, you'll support the Senior Product Owner, and our delivery teams to translate the needs of our control centre and operational colleagues into high level technical documents for us to design and develop recommended systems.

Product Owner (£47,600-£71,600)

This role is to be the outcome owner, focused on ensuring the product delivers business value. You will be empowered to make decisions and able to negotiate in making decisions around priority scope and requirements with impacted stakeholders.

Technical/Senior Technical Engineer (£46,626-£68,098)

You will provide a hardware and software support management service for our Primary and Secondary Operational Technology Applications. The role requires a good level of technical and operational understanding of the Operational Applications (software and hardware) and requires a high level of communication skills to understand complex faults and issues. The Senior role will involve managing workload and junior resources.

Standards Engineer (£65,752-£76,366)

In role, you will be responsible for the development and continuous improvement of policy and standards, and equipment selection and sourcing for Protection & Control, SCADA, Telecontrol & PLCs, Network Automation, Smart Condition Monitoring and/or Other Substation Electronics. A deep understanding of one or more of these categories is required for the successful applicants.

UAT/Senior UAT Engineer (£52,285-£68,098)

You will test and implement all approved patches to our Primary and Secondary Operational Technology Applications. The role requires a good level of technical and operational understanding of the Operational Applications (software and hardware) and requires a high level of communication skills to understand complex faults and issues. The Senior role will involve managing workload and junior resources.

Senior Telecoms Asset Engineer (£65,752-£76,366)

In role, you will forecast and manage the health of various communications systems, supporting the operation of our electricity distribution networks. You will focus on the performance of our suppliers, resilience of our links and asset management of our technologies.

Senior Telecoms Design Engineer (£65,752-£76,366)

In role, you will will be responsible driving our operational telecoms design standards covering all systems used to provide operational telecoms, supporting the operation of our electricity distribution networks. As a senior within the team, you will act as an escalation point, providing training and support to colleagues and partners across the organisation - driving forward design deliverables and innovation.

Delivery Manager (£47,600-£71,600)

As a Delivery Manager in OT, you'll manage and track projects and performance as we move our OT estate forward through several technology and change initiatives. You'll ensure we effectively manage cost, quality and timelines on a range of core technology projects.
