Hays is working with a homegrown Scottish Construction Consultancy to recruit a Professional Quantity Surveyor to join their Glasgow team. They have an excellent reputation in the Scottish market with 80% of their project work coming from longstanding retained clients. Their local knowledge and service-driven approach has led to their success and they are looking for a new team member who will uphold their excellent standards whilst also driving their business forwards.
Your new role
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be tasked with cost management and planning, bills of quantities, cost reporting and all administration relating to their construction projects. You will be encouraged to be an active member of the team, helping to manage those more junior members of the staff. They are looking for someone who takes a creative approach to their work and would be keen to find new work streams through proactive business development.
The project work undertaken by our client covers a host of sectors, predominantly distilleries, education and housing. With this diverse workload, they have a secure pipeline of projects. This is also due to their excellent reputation and strong base of returning clients.
What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate has a minimum of two years of post-university experience and is working towards their MRICS chartership. The client is looking for someone who will work well in a small team and thrives when working autonomously. Given it is a smaller practice, you will be happy to take a hands-on approach to your work and enjoy a fast-paced working life.
