Production Controller

Production Controller required for large busy engineering company.

You will help organise material and production planning using your excellent organisation skills to work with the various parts of the team to ensure the flow of materials and work orders run as smoothly as possible.

You will be a key point of contact with the customers and suppliers helping to keep them updated where required. Previous experience in an engineering environment would be beneficial and you should have very good excel skills.

You will plan and schedule work, taking into account manpower, materials/availability, and other capacity restrictions. You will then ensure the schedules are maintained coordinating with all departments in the business. You will report on efficiency's and potential bottlenecks that could impact manufacturing.

What You'll Do:

  • Manage Schedules: You'll be the maestro of order scheduling, issuing job cards, and keeping our production floor humming along to meet delivery dates.
  • System Savvy: With your expertise, our MRP system will always be up-to-date, reflecting the real-time status of jobs.
  • Material Mastery: You'll oversee both internal and customer-issued material orders, ensuring everything is where it needs to be, when it needs to be there.
  • Collaborative Coordination: Working closely with the Shop Floor and Production Control Supervisor, you'll ensure work is loaded and progressed to hit target dates.
  • Active Engagement: Your voice will be heard in daily stand-up meetings, discussing progress and tackling issues head-on.
  • Customer Communication: You'll keep our customers in the loop, managing the order book and updating them regularly.
  • Target Achiever: With your help, we'll hit monthly sales targets and maintain excellent on-time delivery rates.
  • Continuous Improvement: You'll identify process improvements and potential bottlenecks, ensuring smooth operations at all times.

What You'll Bring:

  • Organisational Prowess: Your ability to juggle multiple tasks and priorities is second to none.
  • Excel Expertise: Your proficiency with Excel is top-notch, helping you manage data with ease.
  • Communication Skills: You know how to coordinate effectively with various teams and stakeholders.
  • Numeracy & Literacy: You're comfortable with numbers and computers, making you a natural in our tech-savvy environment.
  • Manufacturing Insight: Experience in a manufacturing setting is a plus, but we're open to those with the right skills and drive.
  • Production Control Know-How: If you've worked in Production Control before, that's great! If not, we're excited to teach you.
