Behaviour Mentor - September 2024 Start

Do you have experience in supporting pupils with special educational needs? Are you available to begin work straight away?

Empowering Learning are working with a mainstream secondary school based in Derby who are looking to appoint a Behaviour Mentor to start as soon as possible.

The role will be Monday to Friday and the hours of work will be 08:30-16:00. The contract will begin in September 2024 or as soon as possible if you were available.

The school are looking somebody to appoint who:

  • Has previous experience of supporting SEN pupils
  • Has at least one years' school-based experience
  • Holds a TA qualification or a relevant degree
  • Can build good relationships with children who struggle to engage in class
  • Has good communication skills to liaise with staff and pupils
  • Can lead inspiring interventions to help engage pupils

The main duties within this role will be:

  • Leading academic interventions with children working below age expected levels
  • Supporting pupils in and out of class who present with special educational needs
  • Liaising with the school SENCO and the class teacher around the progress of pupils
  • Providing pastoral support to children with social and emotional needs
