Services Accountant

Services Accountant needed in Esher, £313.36 per day PAYE - Reference: RQ1311828

  • To provide financial information and advice to the Head of Finance, Chief Accountant, Team Heads and budget holders in respect of those services within the postholder's responsibilities.
  • Overseeing the budget performance, prepare the final accounts, and advise to Planning, Environmental and Customer Services functions of the Authority.
  • To support the development of the Client's rolling medium term financial strategy as the Client's financial advisor to those services within the postholder's responsibilities.
  • To represent the Strategic Director & Deputy Chief Executive at meetings of Committees and Groups as required.
  • To prepare revenue estimates for those services within the postholder's responsibilities in accordance with approved timescales.
  • To be responsible for the preparation of the Final Accounts for those services within the postholder's responsibilities.
  • To be responsible for the preparation of estimates and final accounts for the Collection Fund in accordance with legislative and regulation achieving a successful external audit with no amendments. Prepare any information required to comply with legislative requirements in relation to the accounting requirements of the Collection Fund.
  • To prepare monthly revenue budget monitoring reports for budget managers within the postholder's areas of responsibility in accordance with approved timescales.
  • To prepare monthly and quarterly revenue and capital monitoring reports for inclusion within the Corporate Monitoring arrangements for presentation to the relevant Committee or Group.
  • To prepare government and other statistical returns in relation to the revenue activities and collection fund activities of the Client including the Client's Revenue Returns.
  • To provide financial background, analysis and advice Review Programmes for those services within the postholders' area of responsibility.
  • To advise on claims for external funding, to consult with the relevant Heads of Service, to ensure that expenditure incurred is appropriate and that the correct funding is claimed and applied, and that any independent auditing conditions are met.
  • To reconcile control accounts within the postholder's area of responsibility, in particular understand and reconcile the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL).

This is a full time role on a temporary contract basis.
