Assistant Accountant
£36-40k depending on experience

We are recruiting for an experienced Assistant Accountant to support the Financial Controller to administer and support with accounts up to Trial Balance. This role is working for a well-established business, who are an international, manufacturing and distribution company with their head office based in Welwyn Garden City. Established over ten years ago, they are a market leader in their field.

Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable:

Create new Customer accounts in line with company policy, performing the necessary credit checks and credit insurance application

Generate and send out credit notes and customer statements

Credit Control, research and resolve any payment discrepancies, investigate and resolve customer queries, collect and allocate payments, perform account reconciliations

Weekly reporting of Aged Debt to Management, keeping a track of any credits due and invoices in query

Administer HSBC Invoice Financing (IF) system, ensuring the bank are notified of new customers and insurance endorsements. Regularly review credit limits against Customer debt to ensure compliance.

Upload and reconcile invoices via IF weekly, reconciling to the IF bank accounts monthly
Supporting Financial Controller:

Monthly Accounts up to Trial Balance, including:

Accruals
-
Prepayments
-
Balance Sheet Reconciliations

Fixed Asset Register
-
Assisting in the preparation of weekly management reports, including Cashflow and Aged Debtors
Skills and Responsibilities
2+ years' experience in a similar role
AAT or PQ CIMA/ACCA/QBE
Dynamics 365 is desirable but not essential
Strong computer skills and proficient in Excel
Ability to work well individually and within a team
