Key responsibilities/duties of the role
- Applying operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes.
- Installing and configuring new hardware and software.
- Analysing system logs and identifying potential issues with computer systems.
- Introducing and integrating new technologies into existing data centre environments.
- Performing routine audits of systems and software.
- Performing backups & restores as required.
- Answering technical queries and dealing with users queries.
- Responsibility for security.
- Responsibility for documenting the configuration of the computing & networking infrastructure.
- Troubleshooting any reported problems.
- System & network performance tuning.
- Ensuring that the infrastructure is up and running.
- Planning for and responding to service outages.
- Work with our 3rd party suppliers to aid in problem determination.
Additional Skills
- Capable of Server administration Windows (GPO, AD)
- Understanding of Hyper- V Virtualization technologies
- Strong Understanding of Software and Patch management systems WSUS and SCCM
- Working understanding of Windows Active Directory Management
- A good working understanding of Microsoft Exchange Server
- An understanding and working knowledge of LAN/WAN networks, TCP/IP, DNS/DHCP
- Capable of producing detailed, accurate design documentation including procedure documents.
- Understanding and working knowledge of Azure technologies & Office 365 administration
