ER Specialist

KM4HR are supporting an ambitious and fast-growing organisation, in the North London area, to recruit an experienced Employee Relations Specialist. This is a hybrid role with the need to be in the office 3 days per week.

This position will work closely with the Business Partners to provide people first focused support. Advisors/Officers looking for an opportunity to shape the employee relations and culture of a forward thinking organisation will have the opportunity to do exactly this in this position.

As this is a newly created role the position is initially offered on a 6-month contract. Opportunities beyond this will be discussed and confirmed with the successful applicant.

Key Responsibilities;

  • To advise, support and educate on all matters relating to employee relations.
  • 1st and 2nd line support for all employees.

Cases will cover disciplinary, grievance, performance management, flexible working requests, probation and short- and long-term absence.

  • Build relationships with key stakeholders across the business to promote good employee relations across the organisation. Designing and delivering training to promote best practice and increase capability across the business.
  • Maintaining accurate case notes and providing insights and recommendations to the business.
  • Ensure that People policies are up to date and support the creation of new policies as required.
  • Be aware of and communicate legislative changes relating to and affecting ER specifically.
  • Produce ER data on trends and training gaps.

Essential Experience;

  • Current experience supporting in a large-scale employee relations role
  • Experience of managing complex cases up to and including tribunal
  • Ability to manage a substantial volume of cases in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience of creating, revising and implementing policies
  • Excellent and recent knowledge of employment law and recent case law
  • Strong communication skills
  • Working knowledge to support collective consultations/redundancy processes and new legislation integration
  • CIPD qualified
