Personal Development and Wellbeing Coach

Reed Further are working with a college in Coventry that is looking for a dedicated Personal Development and Wellbeing Coach to provide holistic support and mentorship to learners, particularly those struggling with regular attendance and other barriers to academic success. This role is crucial in enabling learners to overcome challenges and achieve their educational goals.

Role: Personal Development and Wellbeing Coach

Contract Type: Permanent

Location: Coventry

Salary: £22,730 - £24,120 for 38 weeks a year (£26,850 - £28,491 per annum FTE)

Hours: Full-time, Term-time Only (38 weeks)

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Act as a mentor to students, particularly those who find it difficult to sustain regular attendance.
  • Support learners with mental health issues, EHCP counselling, behavioural challenges, and other personal obstacles.
  • Monitor student performance, achievement, and attendance, taking appropriate actions to enhance their success.
  • Provide in-depth knowledge and guidance on progression routes within Further and Higher Education.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory guidance around safeguarding, the Prevent Duty, and translate these into effective practice.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Level 2 qualification in English and Maths.
  • Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
  • Proven experience working with people within an educational or youth work environment.
  • Demonstrable ability to monitor and improve student performance and attendance.
  • In-depth knowledge of opportunities within Further and Higher Education.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, the Prevent Duty, and related statutory guidance.
