FInance Manager

Hays are working on behalf of a successful retail company based in Norwich to find their next Finance Manager. Your new role
As Finance Manager, you will report to a Financial Controller and be responsible for overseeing the transactional finance processes and monthly management accounting/reporting schedule. Specifically, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing the outsourced payroll function and associated reporting
  • Oversee all AP and AR processes
  • Production of monthly management accounts and supporting schedules
  • Production of balance sheet reconciliations
  • Updating and maintaining the fixed asset register
  • Collating, reviewing and submitting VAT returns on a quarterly basis
  • Managing a team of 6 transactional staff through 2 direct reports
  • Performing regular 1-2-1's and formal performance reviews, driving team development and supporting individual growth.
  • Reviewing existing processes and identifying areas of improvement
  • Working with IT and change teams to drive improvements in systems and processes
  • Assisting in year-end preparation and audit

This is a full-time role, working 40 hours per week between Monday and Friday. This company operates a hybrid working model of 2 days a week in the office and up to 3 working from home.

What you'll need to succeed
You must be a fully qualified and experienced finance professional with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You will ideally have some experience of leading or managing others and be able to engage with stakeholders across different parts of the business. You must be forward-thinking and be open-minded to change in a busy environment. You must have a strong working knowledge of MS Office packages and exposure to Oracle Netsuite would be advantageous.
