Principal Workforce Systems Data Analyst - Hybrid

I am recruiting for a Principal Workforce Systems Data Analyst to join an established team based in Colchester.

This role is responsible for delivering high-quality workforce information analysis, ensuring accurate and timely data is available for decision-making. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in workforce information analysis and a strong background in using e-workforce systems such as Access HR, ESR, OLM, EASY pay, Trac, and e-rostering.

Job Purpose:

  • Manage and maintain workforce systems, ensuring effective use and data capabilities.
  • Analyse and interpret complex, sensitive data, providing written reports and statistical presentations to various stakeholders.
  • Act as the ESR/Systems subject matter expert, advising on system functionality and troubleshooting issues.
  • Liaise with external bodies and suppliers to improve systems or service provision.
  • Lead on the implementation of new functions in ESR and other e-workforce systems across the organisation.
  • Provide in-depth analysis and insights for workforce planning, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
  • Manage the day-to-day issues related to workforce systems and develop team members to support end users.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Degree level qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience in workforce information, business information systems, or data analysis.
  • Extensive experience in Workforce Information Analysis and knowledge of HR systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of NHS Electronic Staff Record (ESR) or similar Oracle-based systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, including Pivot Tables and various functions.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to produce accurate workforce information and present complex data effectively.
  • Business awareness of how workforce information impacts organisational decisions.
