Our client is a fun, fast paced, and growing wholesaler based in the Leeds area, seeking a commercially orientated Senior Product Designer to join their dynamic team in Leeds.
They offer flexible hours and benefits, free parking on site, and a company-wide bonus. The role is fully office based and will involve everything from idea, concept, and product. You will be working with the physical product and the limitations of this, coming up with ideas from scratch and putting them into artwork.
This role would be suitable for you if you have experience working with customer briefs and supporting Junior Designers, alongside product design experience, or at least an interest in working with products. You will be given full training and support by the Head of Product.
What the role involves:
- Designing product and product artwork for toys, gifts, books, and other giftware/homeware product ranges.
- Designing additional packaging and product labels for all new products.
- Creating marketing materials and catalogue design to showcase the product range both in print and online.
- Providing support and feedback to Junior Designers.
Skills and experience we're looking for:
- Passionate about creating exceptional gifts, willing to go above and beyond.
- Creative and innovative, with the ability to efficiently execute ideas.
- Keen eye for trends and strong creative flair.
- Experience designing products with broad appeal, including some 'quirky' or 'tongue-in-cheek' style material (preferred but not required).
- Proficient in Creative Cloud, especially Illustrator & InDesign.
- Working knowledge of 3D modeling software.
- Skilled in designing gift packaging that enhances product presentation.
- Ideally around 5 years' experience in product design.
- Strong understanding of consumer preferences and market trends.
Additional Requirements:
- Experience working with customers and interpreting design briefs
- Excellent time management skills
- Commercial design background, preferably in toys, children's products, games, or related fields.
- Strong interest in product design, not limited to packaging or logo creation.
- Fun, quirky, and imaginative personality to match our client's brand ethos.
