Transport Assessment Officer

- Salary: 13.70 per hour
- We are seeking a Transport Assessment Officer for a 6-month position within our Transport Assessments Team. The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail and the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software systems. This role is not focused on traditional transport logistics but is related to assessing and coordinating school transport services provided by the local authority. The role involves data entry, data correction, fact-finding, and handling calls.
Day to Day of the role:
- Enter and correct data within the new software system to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Conduct fact-finding tasks to gather necessary information for transport assessments.
- Handle incoming calls, providing information and resolving queries related to school transport.
- Apply local authority policy to assess individual transport requirements for schools.
- Work collaboratively with the team to manage transport assessment processes.
- After initial training and induction, work flexibly with the option of home working, with a minimum of one day a week at County Hall.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to handling data.
- Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new software systems efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills for handling calls and liaising with various stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in data management or a related field is desirable.
- Understanding of local authority school transport policies is advantageous but not essential
