Accounts Assistant

SF Recruitment are working with a clothing company based in Barwell who are looking for Accounts Assistant/Assistant Accountant to join on a full time / permanent basis as soon as possible. The successful candidate must already have strong experience in transactional roles and be aspiring to become an Assistant Accountant; you will be reporting directly to the Finance Director.
Duties include:
- All accounting functions related to Purchase Ledgers & Sales Ledgers
- Weekly Credit Control duties
- Resolving queries and speaking with suppliers
- Cash/banking daily (multi-currency)
- Updating and recording of all payments
- Reconciliation and month end analysis
- Liaising with all internal & external stakeholders
- Main audit, HMRC audits, VAT audits and insurance
- Undertake general office duties, and to support on an operational level
i.e. with health & safety visits, maintenance visits etc.
- Any other ad hoc duties as reasonably required
Candidate requirements:
- Previous experience as an Accounts Assistant/Assistant Accountant
- Must be able to work independently, with little or no supervision
- Essential to have worked with SAGE50
- Excellent Excel skills, and numerical ability
- Strong communication skills, remaining calm under pressure
