Senior Data Engineer - Background:
Our Client are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to be responsible for the implementation of their clients' cloud data platforms, IoT analytics, data integration and migration projects.
The Company is a niche Data Management & Analytics Solutions Provider with all the excitement and agility of a new company but with their roots in long standing client partnerships; successfully working with these companies helping them gain valuable insight from their data and providing analytical reporting to help them achieve their strategic objectives.
The role will involve Working closely with Data Architects and Insight Analysts on the development of their clients' cloud data warehouse and IoT analytics projects utilising cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure.
Senior Data Engineer practical experience should include:
Prior experience in data engineering or business intelligence role.
ETL and data pipeline implementation experience, technology agnostic.
Experience implementing solutions using at least one of the following technologies Azure Data Factory, Azure Event Hubs, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Function Apps, Azure Synapse Analytics, AWS Glue, AWS S3, AWS Lambda Functions, AWS Redshift, Databricks, Snowflake, Google Big Query, Alteryx, SSIS
Demonstrable understanding of data warehouse and data lake principles.
Demonstrable data modelling techniques such as Kimball, Inmon or Data Vault methodologies.
Demonstrable understanding of unstructured, semi-structured and structured data source types for databases, files, formats and APIs.?
Strong SQL skills including the ability to optimize performance.
Exposure to data engineering coding languages such as Python, R or Spark
Experience using backlog management tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps
Senior Data Engineer Summary:
The role is as remote as you wish, but the preference is for all employees to be North East based so the client's Newcastle HQ is easily accessible.
