Senior Occupational Therapist

Myn is recruiting for a Senior Occupational Therapist on behalf of our long-term client in the South East of England. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of adult patients facing physical, mental, and social challenges.
Job Summary:
As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will assess, plan, and implement therapeutic interventions. Your focus will be on supporting patients to achieve greater independence and improve their quality of life. You will work collaboratively with patients, their families, and a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' functional abilities and occupational needs.
- Develop and implement personalised treatment plans based on assessment findings and patient-centred goals.
- Deliver therapeutic interventions to enhance patients' abilities in daily living activities and other meaningful tasks.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, and social workers, to ensure coordinated care.
- Provide education and training to patients and their families on therapeutic techniques and adaptive equipment.
- Monitor and document patients' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary for optimal outcomes.
- Advise on and facilitate the provision of assistive devices and adaptive technology to support independence.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and care planning sessions.
- Stay updated on best practices in occupational therapy and integrate new techniques into patient care as appropriate.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- Degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent qualification recognised by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Registration with the HCPC as a qualified Occupational Therapist.
- Strong understanding of occupational therapy principles and practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients and the healthcare team.
- Ability to develop tailored treatment plans and evaluate their effectiveness.
- Experience in a similar role within adult services is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of assistive devices and adaptive technologies.
- A commitment to promoting patient independence and quality of life.
