Due to expansion we are recruiting for an engineer to join this thriving business. We definitely need you to have electrical engineering experience as a time-served technician OR someone who has completed an apprenticeship. Ideally we're looking for someone with knowledge in mechanical engineering or even plumbing who can bring multiple core skills to this role. Compex and 18th Edition would be desirable, however, training can be provided.

The Role and Person:

  • Work on a Panama shift pattern variation (average 33 hours per week)
  • You will carry out maintenance, fault finding and repairs on a range of electrical systems.
  • Respond promptly to breakdowns and planned maintenance work
  • Electrical fault finding and diagnoses of motors and drives
  • Continuous improvement activities
  • TIG, MIG, ARC welding
  • Fitting to tight tolerances
  • Preventative electrical maintenance
  • Root cause analysis
  • Gas and Electrical Furnace refurbishment
  • Challenge status quos and drive change
  • Familiarity of PLC system controls (Siemens, Honeywell, National Instruments) is desirable
  • Uphold safe working practices at all times
  • Reporting to the Engineering Manager and Maintenance Manager

Qualifications:

  • BTEC, HNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
  • Have followed a recognised Engineering apprenticeship
  • 18th Edition - BS7671 is desirable, but not essential
  • CG2394 & CG 2395 Test and Inspection qualification desirable
  • Health and Safety knowledge in an Engineering environment
  • Excellent organisational, analytical and communication skills
