Job Opening: Maintenance Engineer

Location: Yeovil

Salary: £16.50 ph

Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be the first responder to machine breakdowns, ensuring swift diagnosis and resolution of issues. You will manage the planned maintenance schedule for all site machines to minimise breakdown risk and extend machine lifespan. Additionally, you will foster strong relationships with original equipment manufacturers, maintain a comprehensive spare parts inventory, and complete detailed error logs and service files.

Key Responsibilities

  • Machine Breakdown Response: Act as the first responder to machine breakdowns, providing efficient diagnosis and resolving issues promptly.
  • Planned Maintenance Management: Oversee the planned maintenance schedule for all site machines to minimise breakdown risks and extend the lifespan of the equipment.
  • Relationship Management: Maintain positive relationships with original equipment manufacturers.
  • Spare Parts Inventory: Ensure a well-managed spare parts stock for quick machine repairs.
  • Error Logs and Service Files: Complete thorough error logs and service files.
  • SOC Completion: Handle SOC completion.
  • Safety Compliance: Maintain a safe workplace and comply with HSE directives.
  • Breakdown Analysis: Review machine breakdowns and create action plans to prevent future occurrences.
  • Contractor Management: Ensure contractors are site compliant regarding RAMS, inductions, and work permits.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Strong mechanical and fitting background.
  • Experience with various machine tools (lathe, mill, CNC, hydraulic, pneumatic, press).
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise workload.
  • Analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Forklift licence.
