Position Overview: They are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Structural Steel Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in estimating structural steel projects and possess a keen eye for detail, exceptional analytical skills, and a thorough understanding of the steel fabrication industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for structural steel projects across various sectors including leisure, commercial, office, and industrial.
- Interpret architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and other documentation to provide detailed and precise estimates.
- Work closely with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotes and ensure cost-effective solutions.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to ensure clear communication and successful project outcomes.
- Conduct site visits as necessary to gather information and assess project requirements.
- Monitor and analyse market trends, material costs, and other factors affecting project costs.
- Assist in the preparation of tender submissions and contract negotiations.
- Collaborate with the project management and engineering teams to ensure alignment between estimates and project execution.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Structural Steel Estimator.
- Strong knowledge of steel fabrication processes, materials, and construction methodologies.
- Proficiency in using estimating software and tools.
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
