Customer Services Officer

We are seeking a Customer Services Officer for an ongoing temporary booking with an immediate start. This entry-level role is within a local authority's Customer Services Applications Team, which processes a high volume of customer applications for various Council services. Full training will be provided, allowing you to develop essential skills and contribute to the service we provide to local residents and users.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Taking customer calls and processing payments.
- Using procedure notes and complex information systems to process applications to a high standard.
- Responding to a high volume of emails.
- Depending on the service area, reading and interpreting drawings, plans, and maps.
- Using Excel spreadsheets to manage a caseload of client contacts.
- Checking customer documentation and inputting details into Council systems.
- Adapting to changes in work processes to reflect ever-changing legislation.
- Learning and retaining information quickly in a fast-paced environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Ability to learn and adapt to new systems and legislation.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in using Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Attention to detail and ability to process information accurately.
- Ability to manage a high volume of work and multitask effectively.
- Candidates will be expected to pass a skills assessment and personality test during the interview process.
