Accounts Assistant (4 months FTC)

Salary: £35,000 pro rata

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented Accounts Assistant to join a prestigious law firm in the UK. This role offers a competitive salary of £35,000 pro rata and is based in central London with flexible working opportunities.

The successful candidate will be part of a small accounting team responsible for billing, payments, bank reconciliations, and closing period end. This role is temporary cover over the financial year end.

What you'll do:

As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of the company. Your day-to-day tasks will involve posting rechargeable and non-rechargeable invoices/expenses, finalising sales invoices, assisting with monthly billing, processing employee expense claims, posting and allocating bank receipts/payments daily, preparing credit card recharge forms monthly, setting up bank payments for suppliers weekly, reconciling accounts monthly, completing month-end closedown procedures, and assisting with the financial year-end audit. You will also be responsible for managing the accounts inbox and dealing with queries.

  • Posting rechargeable and non-rechargeable invoices/expenses
  • Finalising and approving/signing off sales invoices
  • Assisting with monthly billing and sending invoices out to clients
  • Processing employee expense claims
  • Posting and allocating bank receipts/payments daily
  • Preparing and submitting monthly credit card recharge forms
  • Setting up bank payments for both domestic and foreign suppliers on a weekly basis
  • Monthly reconciliation of office bank account, client accounts, and credit card accounts
  • Completing the month end closedown
  • Assisting with the financial year end audit

What you bring:

The ideal Accounts Assistant will bring proven accounting experience (part qualified) to the role. You should be degree level educated with experience of performing a wide variety of accounting tasks. Good Excel skills including Pivot tables, Vlookups are essential. You should have strong organisation, administration and project delivery skills. The ability to work effectively as part of a team or independently as required is key. A balanced, confidential and professional manner is expected along with the ability to juggle a busy and varied workload, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Proven Accounting experience (part qualified) and degree level educated
  • Experience of performing a wide variety of accounting tasks in a role
