Hays Accountancy & Finance are exclusively partnering with a leading and growing group within an interesting sector to recruit a dynamic and hands-on Senior Credit Controller/Credit Team leader based in their offices in Ross-On-Wye, Herefordshire. A newly created growth position reporting into the Financial Director, taking full responsibility for the timely collection of debt across the group companies. This permanent and varied credit control role involves setting credit limits, taking appropriate action on credit/debt processes and query management. You will oversee and supervise one accounts receivable assistant, while remaining hands-on. A great opportunity to really add value and take control of the Credit Control and Accounts Receivable processes for a growing group.

Your new role

Your key duties will involve proactively managing the credit control processes across the group of companies, including the timely collection of debt and related accounts receivable processes. You will oversee and remain hands-on in cash allocation processes, approving and monitoring credit limits, escalating debt problems to senior management and debt/credit query resolution. You will have strong knowledge of the whole credit cycle; line manage the existing Accounts Receivable Assistant and allocate work to ensure credit/AR tasks are completed accurately and on time. You will provide credit/debt reporting, support process improvements, and build relationships both internally/externally at all levels. You will be involved in ad-hoc credit and accounts receivable projects for senior management and the role will be tailored around the right candidate.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this hands-on Senior Credit Controller/Team Leader position, you will need experience in a similar role, strong knowledge of the whole credit cycle and accounts receivable processes including cash allocation. Strong MS excel skills, the ability to manage workloads to deadlines, and excellent communication skills to build relationships both internally/externally at all levels. You will be proactive and hands-on, willing to learn and adapt to business needs, with a strong problem-solving ability. Experience working in groups with multiple business units or companies and knowledge of Sage and MS Business Central, would be advantageous but not essential.
