Year 2 Teacher

Zest Education are currently recruiting a passionate and hard-working primary school teacher to join a school in Selly Oak. You will be required to teach in a Year 2 class on a part-time basis (3 days a week). This position is due to start in October for a long-term, so if you are looking for an exciting opportunity for the new academic year, then look no further! The ideal candidate must be able to motivate and inspire the children and deliver an engaging and exciting curriculum to ensure they succeed academically.

Your day-to-day duties will include:

  • Planning and presenting high-quality and appropriate lessons that meet the national curriculum guidelines.
  • Carrying out assessments, assigning homework, and performing other administrative tasks like reporting and marking.
  • Establishing standards for behaviour and discipline, including how to handle misbehaviour in accordance with school policy.
  • Create engaging lessons and motivating the children to collaborate and communicate together.
  • Liaising with parents, senior leaders, and external bodes about student's progress and conduct.
  • Offer individualised instruction and support to students of all abilities as needed.

You must have:

  • A Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with in-school teaching experience.
  • A strong commitment to fostering a great learning environment and educating children.
  • Experience in an educational setting or working with children.
  • Extensive familiarity with the national curriculum and superior numeracy and literacy abilities.
  • The capacity for both independent working and productive teamwork.
  • A dedication to advancing and protecting the welfare of children.
  • An enhanced DBS or the willingness to obtain one.
  • A wide range of IT skills that will be used daily in this role.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
