The Accountancy and Finance Division at The ONE Group is exclusively working with a global manufacturing business based in Daventry. Due to internal restructure, my client is recruiting an ambitious Finance Manager who is looking to progress as the business goes through their rapid development phrase. This Finance Manager Role will report directly into the CFO who is a great natural leader and thrives to get the best out of the team.
Position: Finance Manager
Location: Daventry
Reporting to: CFO
Role Purpose
- Collaborate with the UK Operations team to produce monthly management accounts
- Provide financial reports to the leadership team and Group
- Lead and develop the Finance Team (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, management accounts)
- Ensure the effectiveness of finance and operations systems and processes
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Management
- Perform monthly and year-end financial processes
- Prepare accurate monthly financial reports, including variance analysis
- Monitor stock rotation and obsolescence, ensuring targets are met
- Maintain an accurate UK-wide accounting system
- Manage metrics, KPIs, P&L, cash flow, and budget/forecast controls
- Provide financial data for business decision-making
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly
- Support other departments with financial reports and analysis
- Provide weekly cash forecasts and manage cash flow
- Assist in preparing the annual budget and forecasts
- Liaise with external contacts like auditors and HMRC
- Ensure compliance with IFRS and local GAAP
- Complete quarterly VAT returns and assist with tax compliance
- Implement internal control systems
- Leadership and Team Development of 4 direct reports
- Oversee the Finance Team's daily operations and performance
- Manage training, development, and coaching for team members
- Align team efforts with business strategy
- Implement tools to achieve goals and targets
- Ensure exceptional customer service through the finance team
- Conduct team meetings and performance appraisals
- Oversee administrative activities like accounts receivables and payroll
- Supervise the Payroll and Accounts Payable Specialists
- Support the implementation of company processes and procedures
- Drive continuous improvement and efficiency
Required Experience and Qualifications
Essential
ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified.
Experience as a Senior Management Accountant or Finance Manager
Proven experience in producing monthly management accounts
Knowledge of transfer pricing, customs duties, and import procedures
Experience in driving change and continuous improvement
Advanced Excel skills
Knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS principles
Desirable
Experience with Oracle, Navision or SAP systems
Experience building high-performing teams
Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or similar industries
