The Permanent Division of Robert Half is currently recruiting for a Group Accountant on behalf of a specialist Engineering business with offices based in Hertford.
The Role
As Group Accountant you will reporting to the Group FC and take responsibility for all day to day operational activities in relation to finance, ledgers, compliance, tax and regulatory needs. Day to day duties will consist of:
- Managing the day-to-day operations of the finance function including the direct management of the finance team.
- Maintaining fixed asset schedules and the posting of monthly depreciation charges
- Monitoring and control of intercompany transactions/ledgers and the raising of appropriate invoices
- Ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions into accounting system.
- Balance sheet account reconciliations on a monthly basis.
- Management of the month end close process in accordance with company timelines.
- Preparation and submission of all statutory and taxation returns in the UK and Ireland, including VAT, CIS
- Stakeholder management
- Support in budgeting and forecasting
Your Profile
You will ideally be a Qualified Accountant from a Medium sized Practice with the ability to work across a mixed Financial and Management Accounting focused role within a growing and developing organisation with massive continued aspirations for growth.

Salary and Benefits
Role of Group Accountant in Hertford is working on a remote basis with occasional travel into the office in Hertford and looking at offering a salary of £40-60K depending on experience.
