Quality Manager

GMP Recruitment are proud to be partnered with a hugely successful and highly recognised leading international manufacturer located on the outskirts of Worcester. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quality Manager to join their team on a full time, permanent contract, to take responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the Quality Department.

This position is working Monday - Friday, 37.5 hour per week, offering a highly competitive salary up to £80K, which is pending relevant experience, plus excellent company benefits.

As Quality Manager you will have overall responsibility for Quality activities across the business, including QMS, QC, QA, internal and external audit and Supplier Quality. You will ensure compliance of the Management System to obtain and later maintain the step up to AS9100 and related special process approvals (i.e. NADCAP) and manage compliance of the QMS to the accredited standards (ISO 9001) through a programme of appropriate management review and drive improvement activity based on KPIs for performance to customer (PPM), first pass yield, Warranty, Cost of Quality and audit compliance.

To be considered for this role you must demonstrate previous Quality Management experience within a manufacturing environment, notable AEROSPACE and AUTOMOTIVE sectors.

Quality Manager main duties:

  • You will lead quality programs designed to ensure that the processing of all products is compliant.
  • Responsible for all elements of the Quality function and providing support to colleagues in Operations and the wider business.
  • You will be expected to develop, monitor and report a suite of Key Performance Indicators across all areas of the business to ensure that all projects are delivered on cost and on time to the highest quality standards.
  • Ensure that Health, Safety and Environmental issues are prioritised and facilitate Lean Business and drive Continuous Improvement across all quality related areas of the business in line with the strategy.

Quality Manager required skills and experience:

  • AS9100 in (partially) non-Aero industrial company environments
  • Considerable and diverse demonstrated experience of leading a quality function with a proven track record in strategic quality leadership delivering effective quality strategies, policies, processes and systems.
  • Ability to add value, reduce costs and make business improvements.
  • Proven project management and gaining new accreditations and maintaining existing ones.
  • Experience of operating and influencing at a strategic level.
  • Knowledge and technical understanding of casting, machining and other manufacturing techniques used in the IGT, Aerospace and Automotive sectors.
  • Experience of investment casting is a particular advantage.
  • Educated to degree level (preferably Masters) in a relevant engineering discipline (mechanical or materials) or equivalent NVQ Level 7 qualification.
