We are working with our financial services client to find a junior Tax Assistant to utilise their experience by delivering tax assistance to a portfolio of various clients.

Hours:

  • Monday to Friday, 9am-5:30pm (including flexible starts and finishes to accommodate commitments)
  • Open to the possibility of part-time for a more experienced individual

Duties:

  • Assist with month-ends: Involves reconciling accounts and preparing financial statements.
  • Personal Tax assessments: helping individuals assess their tax liabilities and obligations. Involves completing tax forms, and advising clients on tax planning strategies to minimize their tax liabilities within legal boundaries.
  • Companies House: Typically include maintaining company records, filing necessary documents such as annual returns and financial statements, and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements for companies registered in the UK.
  • Compliance: Ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations. This involves staying updated on changes in tax legislation, preparing and submitting tax returns accurately and on time, assisting with tax audits, and advising clients or colleagues on compliance matters.
  • Client Communication: Communicating with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders. This could involve answering queries, providing updates on tax matters, and offering assistance with tax-related issues.

Qualifications and requirements:

  • Previous experience of working in a similar role (Accountancy Practice experience preferred but not essential)
  • Open to hearing from people who have relevant experience and are retired but looking to get back to work as part-time
  • Junior candidates welcome, either part qualified or fully qualified
