Calling all experienced Financial Controllers! Our client, a charity organisation, is seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join their team as a Financial Controller on a temporary basis. As the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in overseeing the financial operations of our client's organisation. Your responsibilities will include day-to-day financial transactions, preparing management accounts, providing financial analysis, and ensuring the completeness and accuracy of financial records. You will have the opportunity to work closely with senior managers and their teams to support effective financial monitoring and planning.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar role
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Excellent knowledge of financial management principles and practises
- Proficient in financial accounting software and MS Excel
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
Responsibilities:
- Perform day-to-day financial transactions, such as BACS payments and runs
- Prepare monthly management accounts and present them to the Senior Management Team
- Build strong relationships with senior managers and their teams
- Support financial forecasting and achieve financial targets
- Provide financial analysis for grant applications and reports
- Lead the production of monthly cash flow projections
- Assist with ongoing projects by providing financial data and analysis
- Ensure robustness and transparency of financial records and reporting
- Support and assist team members as needed
- Complete monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
- Work with direct reports to provide financial management services
- Authorise standard journals and reconcile accounts
- Interact with HMRC and complete VAT returns
- Assist with statutory accounts and annual budget preparation
- Maintain the asset register and depreciation records
