We are supporting a Sunderland based client who're working through a significant digital transformation and have a newly created role to take on responsibility for the design and delivery of their testing strategy.
The Role
This role offers a unique opportunity to influence the future of project delivery within our growing Business Improvement and Change function. As part of a central Project Management Office (PMO), you'll play a key role in governing and executing medium to large-scale projects across the whole business.
You'll be responsible for shaping the approach to IT and Business Process testing. This includes defining clear roles and methodologies for both project-driven and BAU (Business As Usual) testing activities. The projects you'll support will encompass a variety of business change and IT initiatives.
The Person
We're looking for a passionate QA professional with experience including;
- A recognized testing qualification (ISTQB, CSTE) or equivalent experience is a must.
- You've demonstrably managed and coordinated testing across diverse projects.
- You can define, design, and deliver all testing types (functional, system integration, regression, etc.) – including supporting user acceptance testing.
- You excel at end-to-end testing activity planning, keeping stakeholders aligned and driving on-time delivery.
- You meticulously document queries and defects with clear data for swift resolution.
- You review testing requirements for changes and proposals, adapting test plans and schedules accordingly.
- You propose testing strategies that leverage automation tools and champion continuous quality improvement.
- You can create both manual and automated test scripts.
- You drive standards and best practices in testing, promoting automation adoption.
- You identify test automation opportunities, plan efforts, select tools, and ensure team training.
- You manage performance, prioritise effectively, assign and track objectives, and ensure stage gate criteria are met.
- You possess excellent communication skills to collaborate with diverse colleagues across the business.
This is a permanent position offering a salary of up to £50,000, there is a requirement to spend some time at the office in Sunderland so candidates will need to be relatively local to the North East.
