Mechanical Engineer

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Rate: £20 - £21 per hour
We are currently seeking a Site Mechanical Engineer to join a leading facilities management team at a high-profile site in Didcot.
Role Overview:
As a Mechanical Engineer, you'll be responsible for carrying out both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on a range of mechanical systems and plant equipment across the site. You will ensure systems are operating efficiently and safely, with minimal disruption to operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance and repair of mechanical building services including:
- Air Handling Units (AHUs)
- Heating and Cooling Systems
- Pumps, Valves, and Pipework
- Pressure Systems
- Daily checks and routine servicing of plant equipment
- Fault finding and resolution
- Ensuring compliance with health & safety regulations and site procedures
- Liaising with other engineering staff and management to coordinate tasks effectively
Requirements:
- NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience with AHUs, HVAC systems, pressure systems, and general mechanical plant
- Knowledge of heating and chilled water systems
- Ability to read technical drawings and manuals
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Good communication and organisational skills
Desirable:
- Previous experience in a facilities management or building services environment
- Additional certification in pressure systems or F-Gas (advantageous but not essential)
