Bookkeeper

Our client in the West Cornwall area is seeking an experienced bookkeeper to join their growing company. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing bookkeeping tasks to complete clients' VAT returns and accounting requirements using software like Xero.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Perform weekly and monthly bookkeeping for various clients.
  • Maintain client bookkeeping software (Xero).
  • Keep client records up to date.
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns.
  • Liaise with clients to resolve bookkeeping and invoice questions.
  • Support accountants with various tasks.
  • Provide general administrative support.

Requirements:

  • Software Proficiency: Experience using Xero is essential; familiarity with QuickBooks and Dext is also ideal.

  • Skills:

  • Excellent knowledge of accounting processes, ideally within an accountancy practice.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Exceptional attention to detail.

  • Ability to multitask effectively.

  • Attributes:

  • A team player who can build rapport with clients.

  • Self-motivated, able to work independently, and meet deadlines.

  • Capable of performing tasks to a high standard and in a timely manner.
