Direct Tax Manager

CMA Recruitment Group is delighted to be working exclusively with a company based in Basingstoke, Hampshire. An opportunity to be part of a fantastic organisation who are well established, offering a challenging and diverse working environment with lots of opportunity. They are seeking a Direct Tax Manager to join for a period of 12 months, you will ideally have significant Tax experience gained in an international environment and will be a Qualified Accountant or a Tax professional.

What will the Direct Tax Manager role involve?

  • Working with the accounting team, other tax team members and the outsourced accounting providers to manage the direct tax compliance requirements across the International Group;
  • Managing the tax reporting at half year and year end. Preparing the relevant disclosures required for external Group reporting (under IFRS), as well as in the legal entity financial statements (UK under FRS102), managing the external tax audit process and preparing Audit Committee papers;
  • Managing tax audits and investigations as and when they arise;
  • Involvement in tax forecasting and budgeting as required;
  • Assisting with advising the business on commercial projects, including customer tenders, with clear guidance on the tax implications (cash and P&L) for the project, and providing insight on the choices available that could mitigate the cost.

Suitable Candidate for the Direct Tax Manager vacancy:

  • Significant Tax experience gained in an international environment;
  • Strong accounting and tax technical knowledge;
  • High level of competence with the Microsoft Office suite packages;
  • Ability to work under pressure, to strict timescales and to multi-task;
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, building relationships both within and outside finance;
  • Excellent attentional to detail.
