This role is ideal for a Maintenance Operative with a passion for delivering exceptional service within the not-for-profit sector. The successful candidate will be part of our Facilities Management team, providing vital support across our locations in Newton Le Willows.

Description

  • To carry out the professional duties of a Maintenance Operative upholding the aims, ethos and philosophy of the company established by the CEO.
  • To adhere to all policies as validated by the CEO, Head of Education, Governing Body and Trustees.
  • The role relies on you being able to get on and undertake work without supervision, so it is important that you are able to work safely on your own initiative prioritizing tasks as they arise with conflicting demands on your time and managing your own workload including regular scheduled duties ensuring that these deadlines are met.
  • You will need to have strong interpersonal skills as you will be dealing with a variety of different people on a daily basis including staff, students, contractors and visitors.
  • Co-operate with all school staff in providing a happy, caring environment for the children.
  • Aim to create good working relationships with all staff.
  • Play an active part in promoting good public relations in the locality so as to increase public awareness of and support for, the aims and objectives of the school.
  • Promote a positive image of and the school and college.
  • Ensure that your conduct within and outside the school does not conflict with the professional expectations of the organisation.
  • Actively support and promote the organisation and all its policies including Equal Opportunities.
  • Co-operate with all staff in maintaining harmonious inter-personal relations.
  • Ensure the respect, dignity and rights to privacy of pupils as far as possible.
  • Carry out any other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, the title of the post and its grading as required by the CEO or higher level of authority

Profile

A successful Maintenance Operative should have:

  • Relevant qualifications or experience in facilities management/maintenance
  • Experience of working within school environments.
  • A good understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • Experience working within a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • A proven track record in a similar role.
  • The ability to be flexible and adapt to changing situations.
