Project Accountant

A company in the Watford area are looking for a Project Accountant to join their business on an 18 month Fixed Term Contract. This role requires someone who has managed projects before (end to end) and are able to hit the ground running.

The role will provide financial governance, support and advice to enable strong reporting and accuracy of financial information. The position will support project performance whilst supporting the Finance Business Partner and wider finance team.

This is a contract role and therefore we are looking for someone who can start on short notice. The contract will be for 18 months and will pay up to £60,000 plus car allowance. The company operate a hybrid working model from their state-of-the-art office on the outskirts of Watford. It is not easily commutable by public transport so please be aware of this when making your application.

Key role duties include:

  • Management Accounts
  • Variance analysis
  • Quarterly forecasting
  • Annual budgets
  • Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Process improvement and driving best performance at all times
  • Drive project profitability.
  • VAT Returns
  • Assist with year end audit process
  • Provide year end statutory information
  • Manage efficient accounting and transactional finance processes
  • Maintaining strong Stakeholder relationships

Key candidate requirements:

  • Qualified Accountant
  • Experience in project accounting
  • Good ERP system knowledge
  • Details and analytical
  • Commercially focused
