Mechanical Maintenance Engineer - With Electrical Skills

Leeds - Double Days / Week 1: 6am - 2pm Week 2: 2pm - 10pm (Call Out Rota)

We are looking for a motivated Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a market leading company. Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager you will be a key member in ensuring customer products are kept running. You will be involved in all aspects of planned and reactive maintenance within their operation. With progressive training and development this company is always looking to enhance its employees and their skill sets, whilst additionally being supported by a welcoming team of engineers. The position will appeal to an engineer looking for their next challenging role within in a secure and stable company.

Role Description

  • To provide an efficient breakdown response service as and when required, in order to minimise downtime and maximise output, Quality, and Safety.
  • To help implement an effective Preventative Maintenance system in line with schedules and availability of equipment and plant access.
  • To provide an Engineering support service to all aspects of the site in line with business requirements.
  • To be aware of and complete (where applicable) any safe systems of work method statements, including from contractors.
  • In conjunction with the Engineering Manager, to participate in agreed rotas to ensure sufficient Engineering cover is provided on site, at the time it is required.
  • To acknowledge and be aware of the environmental impact of the Operational processes and to minimise this impact (waste, emissions, contamination, loss etc.) whenever practical.
  • To be aware and involved with Site Security (inc. TACCP) and to vigilantly ensure you follow and enforce requirements.
  • To complete paperwork records and electronic records relating to work assignments, PPM's, and work requests as they are requested and/or completed in a timely manner
  • To complete production-orientated work requests and hand-back paperwork/complete on Pirana.
  • To ensure all accidents / incidents are reported to the duty Shift Manager, to assist and lead the investigations process, root cause analysis and corrective/preventative measures as required
  • To utilise the Sage 200 system in order to place orders for spares, repairs, services, equipment, etc., as required or requested.
  • Experience working with the following: Gearboxes, Motors, Pumps, Hydraulics & Pneumatics and Electrical Skills.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum of time served in maintenance engineering to NVQ Level 3.
  • Computer literate - Microsoft Office.

Desirable

  • HNC/HND in Engineering
