accounts assistant
to join a supportive finance team and support our growing financial operations. This role offers a fantastic chance to progress within the company and grow into an assistant accountant (balance-sheet recs, month-end duties, year-end duties).
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable:
You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the accounts payable process, including the accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices, ensuring correct coding, matching purchase orders, and reconciling discrepancies. You will liaise with suppliers to resolve any issues and ensure timely payments. - Accounts Receivable:
In this role, you will handle all incoming payments, ensuring they are correctly applied to the appropriate accounts. You'll also be responsible for generating and sending customer invoices, monitoring outstanding balances, and following up on overdue accounts to ensure prompt payment. - Bank Reconciliations:
You will conduct regular bank reconciliations to ensure all company transactions are correctly recorded in the accounting system. This includes investigating and resolving any discrepancies, ensuring a smooth and accurate month-end closing process. - Expenses Management:
You will process and manage employee expense claims, ensuring that all claims are submitted in line with company policy and correctly reimbursed. This includes verifying receipts, coding expenses to the appropriate accounts, and ensuring timely reimbursement.
Key Skills and Attributes:
- Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
- Good working knowledge of accounting software and Excel
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with suppliers, customers, and internal teams
- Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous
