Job Type: Full-time Permanent

Salary Range: £26,500 - £30,500 inc. sleeps

Prospero Health and Social Care are working with an excellent Wiltshire-based company that provides bespoke residential children's homes for young people who have faced adversity in their early lives. Their overriding mission is to provide these children with the security and support they need to thrive. We are looking for compassionate and resilient individuals who can be dependable role models and form lasting connections with the children they care for. The role of the Residential Support Worker is to provide support, mentorship, and care for children who have experienced hardship in their lives.

As a Residential Support Worker, your role will be diverse and rewarding. You will work with children aged 6 - 12, helping them rebuild trust after previous letdowns by adults.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting children in establishing healthy routines and boundaries.
  • Accompanying them to appointments and assisting with schooling.
  • Creating a nurturing home environment, including providing home-cooked meals.
  • Maintaining records of each child's journey.
  • To be there at important milestones in the lives of children.

Requirements:

  • Good written and IT skills.
  • A sense of humour (strongly desired)
  • Effective communication with children, colleagues, and external bodies.
  • Active listening skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Maintaining composure in crisis situations and following leadership.
  • QCF Level 3/4 in Children and Young People is desirable (training provided if needed).
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and achieving the Level 4 Diploma in Children and Young People.
