About the Role:

Are you passionate about property management and eager to make a tangible impact in a fast-paced environment? We're looking for an Assistant Portfolio Manager to join our dynamic team in London on a maternity cover basis. In this role, you'll be at the forefront of managing a diverse residential property portfolio, ensuring both operational excellence and financial performance. Your responsibilities will span across void inspections, site visits, contractor meetings, data analysis, and assisting in lettings-where you can earn an additional £5-10k annually through commission.

You'll work side by side with the Portfolio Manager to deliver exceptional property management services to our prestigious London clients. From day one, you'll take on a hands-on role, helping to mobilize new assets, manage tenant move-ins, and ensure compliance with all statutory and contractual obligations. This is an exciting opportunity to engage directly with clients, influence strategy, and play a key role in the continuous improvement of our services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Portfolio Oversight: Assist with the management of property maintenance, repairs, and contractor relations, ensuring the portfolio meets all client and regulatory standards.
  • Lettings Support: Actively participate in tenant viewings, right-to-rent checks, void management, and negotiations, with opportunities to earn commission.
  • Client Engagement: Maintain regular communication with clients, helping to align on strategic goals and ensuring all service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
  • Health & Safety Management: Monitor and maintain high standards of health and safety compliance across the portfolio, working with third-party advisors and block managers.
  • Data & Reporting: Prepare detailed reports, offering insights and analysis on operational and financial performance to support client decisions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement strategies to enhance service delivery, drive cost efficiencies, and troubleshoot performance issues.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the wider Touchstone team to ensure seamless service delivery and support ad-hoc projects as required.

Do you have:

  • Experience: A background in property management, lettings, or related fields is preferred, with a solid understanding of basic lettings legislation and property compliance.
  • Skills: You should be proficient in Microsoft Office, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to influence and motivate others.
  • Personality: We're seeking a proactive, adaptable individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, who enjoys problem-solving and is eager to learn and grow.
  • Location: The role is based in London, with travel across the city required, but also offers flexibility for home working.
